Life is not measured in years as it’s often said, and never has it been more true than the lasting impact and legacy that Tuesday Whitt has left behind.  Her life story has literally been heard around the world, and the hearts she has touched is countless.  Tuesday’s story is one of true inspiration, and her family’s courageousness is nothing short of amazing.

During her battle with neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer, she was cared for by the Children’s Hospital in Denver.   It’s our hope through “Miles for Tuesday” that we can contribute to the ongoing pediatric cancer research and care that is provided by  one of the nation’s best centers for treating childhood cancer.

Running the Denver Marathon to Raise Money for the Children’s Hospital

May 24, 2011 – Denver, CO – A growing number of runners are once again signing up for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Marathon this year to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital.  Their team, Miles for Tuesday, is a group of runners of all experience levels with the common goal of running the Denver Marathon, Half Marathon or 2 person 1/2 Marathon Relay on October 9, 2011 to raise funds to benefit the Denver Children’s Hospital.  Last year’s team consisted of over 50 runners, who collectively raised over $45,000 for The Children’s Hospital.

All donations raised by the runners will directly benefit the Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in memory of Tuesday Whitt, whose courageousness and grace inspired so many. “It’s our hope through Miles for Tuesday that we can contribute to the ongoing pediatric cancer research and care that is provided by the Children’s Hospital, one of the nation’s best centers for treating childhood cancer.” said Bill Mell, team leader for Miles for Tuesday.

Miles for Tuesday is actively looking for additional runners who would like to join the team and run the Denver Marathon, Half Marathon, or 2 person Half Marathon Relay to help make a difference in the fight against this disease that has either directly or indirectly affected so many of our lives.  All experience levels are welcome, and the goal for each runner is to raise $1000 in donations which will directly benefit the Children’s Hospital cancer center.

For additional information on running the Denver Marathon to raise money for the Children’s Hospital, please contact Bill Mell at 303-589-0511 or bill@milesfortuesday.com.
